A new venture
It was a pleasure to be invited to work with ex-professional footballer Malcolm Christie in the launch of his new venture, Christie Coaching.
Our challenge was to create a brand that truly showcased his offering – not your usual run of the mill football training academy, but one focused solely on the outfield attacking player. This brand was to be immediately identifiable and one that could be utilised across a number of platforms and assets, primarily, website, social and merchandise.
A modern, vibrant and energising brand
On developing the brand we wanted to keep it simple and distinct, therefore veering away from anything abstract, and more towards the obvious. With vibrant colours, the brand conveys energy and inspiration and becomes an even more interesting concept when used with motion, using the slanting outline headlines portraying forward movement of players.
With inspiration taken from current styles that people relate to such as Fifa, Sky Sports and the Premier League, the motion of the icon element of the logo emphasises movement, progression, learning and development in a modern and vibrant way.
With initial social media assets and templates created in line with the brand guidelines, Malcolm is now able to create his own social posts going forward for a more consistent social media feed. This has proved to be a cost effective approach and an alternative way to doing it all for him and was supported by comprehensive guidelines and tips on how to use social platforms efficiently.
The creative use of supplied photography and video provides proof of his ability – a professional who knows what he is talking about, with a focus on being a striker and scoring goals. With music backed animation, this really was a fun project!
hue provided concepts and designs way above my expectations. From branding of my attacking coaching business to developing a dynamic website to make it easy for aspiring footballers parents to easily register their interest, hue delivered.
